The white Alexander McQueen gown worn by Pippa Middleton at her sister Kate's wedding to Prince William on 29 April, 2011 can be yours for $1,539 (about £1,057). This is 40 per cent off the original price of $2,565 (about £1,761).

The dress is not identical to the one created for Pippa by the Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton: the cap sleeves are shorter, there is no lace and the cowl has been been replaced by two overlapping lapels.

And yet, it is probably the closest replica you are ever likely to see from Burton or McQueen. After all, the former may have signed a contract agreeing not to copy Kate or Pippa's dresses in the future. Even if no such arrangement exists, Pippa's was couture — stitched by hand and fitted to her body with the finest materials — so any true replica would also need to be tailor-made.

The new dress does not have the covered buttons down the back like Pippa's does, but you could always add them yourself.
