Cara Delevingne went for something shimmery and sheer for her latest red-carpet appearance. To promote her upcoming show, Carnival Row, in Berlin today, the model and actress slipped into a shiny (and see-through) long-sleeved David Koma dress covered in silver and nude sequins. With metallic platform shoes, pin-straight bangs, and chrome-colored eye shadow, the stylish Brit was fully committed to the futuristic aesthetic of her glossy ensemble.
The fully sheer skirt on Delevingne’s dress seemed to be no cause of concern for the runway star, who’s no stranger to leg-baring designs. Just days ago in Hollywood, the 27-year-old wore a partly sheer, haute couture number by Iris van Herpen for the L.A. premiere of Carnival Row.
Nearly two weeks ago, Delevingne appeared fully stripped down as she posed au naturel for the cover of Marie Claire‘s September 2019 issue. Speaking to the magazine, the actress called Carnival Row “the first [thing] I’ve done where I’m really full-blown acting.” Her role as Vignette Stonemoss, a rebellious fairy in the fantasy series, follows her past roles in Paper Towns (2015), Suicide Squad (2016), and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017).
Delevingne’s seasoned costar, Orlando Bloom, said she totally nailed the part. “Vignette is this feisty, vibrant, strong, independent go-getter,” he told Marie Claire. “All of Cara’s personal characteristics played beautifully into the role.”
Carnival Row premieres August 30 on Prime Video.
