When a multi-hyphenate creative powerhouse like Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino (yes, they are the same person) joins forces with global sportswear brand Adidas, you get more than just a sneaker.
With this collaboration, Glover encourages you to think about how your story can be narrated through a pair of sneakers: What happens when words fail to capture the wealth of one’s life experiences? Let your shoes, your pair of faithful companions who have traversed and surveyed the bumps and winding roads that life offers, tell your story:

Titled Donald Glover Presents, the three-sneaker capsule collection is a reinterpretation of three classic Adidas silhouettes—the Nizza, the Continental 80, and the Lacombe.
A moth, the motif of the collaboration, captures the theme of wear-to-life, inspiring the ‘worn-in’ aesthetic that characterises the collection. Intentionally deconstructed elements such as uneven stitching, wayward threads, frayed edges and inside–out eyestays feature readily in the designs. Even the packaging opens with a tear strip and comes with three sets of custom shoelaces that are designed to fringe with wear. And in true Glover fashion, storytelling is at the forefront of this partnership, featuring a series of five short films that explore well-worn sneakers as a symbol of life’s experiences. Watch the short films below:
