THE BAG BUFF
The owner of multi-label boutique TriBeCa has spent the last 16 years curating some of fashion’s coolest and hippest designers for local shoppers. An accessory fiend, her wardrobe is a collector’s dream, with over 100 limited edition, statement-making bags—“luxury” is clearly the operative word.
When did this bag obsession begin?
I’ve been obsessed with all things well-designed and one-of-a-kind since my early teens. My collection has since evolved with my style transitioning from classics, to what’s new and now, to novelties and collectibles with true investment value.
What was your first major bag buy?
It was back in university, when I got a black, quilted Chanel backpack complete with gold logo and hardware. It was so precious to me, I carried it 24/7. Good thing it matched everything!
What’s your favourite piece?
My first Hermès Birkin. Back in those days, they were still openly displayed on boutique shelves (yes, it’s hard to believe).
What’s your most coveted limited edition piece?
One of my more treasured pieces is a YSL cigarette box clutch with a mink wristlet from the Tom Ford era.
What is on your wish list now?
All the “Coco Cases,” Chanel’s new cabin luggage, from the brand’s spring/summer 2016 collection.
