Chanel is postponing its upcoming show in Asia due to the threat of the virus. The label was meant to host a Métiers d’Art show in Beijing this May, but plans have been put on hold due to the country being on lockdown. The brand also has plans for a cruise show on the island of Capri on 7 May, and this is currently still expected to go ahead.

Similarly, Prada also made the decision to postpone its upcoming cruise 2021 show. It was meant to take place in Japan on 21 May, however a brand spokesperson explained at the time that "Prada extends its sincere sympathies and concern to all the people and territories affected by this situation".

Giorgio Armani’s autumn/winter 2020 womenswear show in Milan was held behind closed doors amid coronavirus fears. Due to the developments of the illness in Italy, the audience were requested not to attend the ready-to-wear show, which was held in an empty theatre, and live streamed on Armani.com and the fashion house’s social channels.

The French fashion house has cancelled its resort show, which had been scheduled to take place in London in April. “Due to the exceptional health situation, Hermès, concerned with protecting all of its teams and partners and welcoming its guests in the best conditions, has decided not to present its spring 2021 cruise collection in London on 28 April. The house shows its empathy to all those affected by the current situation,” the brand said in a statement.

Dior has indefinitely postponed its cruise show, which was set to take place in Lecce, Puglia, on 9 May, as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. “As a preventive measure, in accordance with instructions from public authorities, and to reinforce the coordination of international directives, the House of Dior has decided to postpone its cruise show in order to ensure the safety of all its employees, collaborators and guests,” Dior said in a statement provided to WWD.

Chanel has decided against showing its 2020/21 cruise show in Capri, which was scheduled for 7 May. The fashion house said that its "foremost consideration is the health and well-being of our teams and guests", in a statement. The label is "examining alternative ways of presenting its collection in Capri at a later date and in a different format".
