Minimalist Sensibility: Art Meets Fashion In The COS X Guggenheim Capsule
Expect more muted tones and soft silhouettes
Redefining Minimalism yet again is no easy feat. With “Less is More”—just how much is there to work with? Architecture and art intertwine with contemporary minimalist fashion in COS's new capsule collection: The fashion label is sponsoring the Guggenheim Museum’s exhibition of American painter Agnes Martin (1912-2004) with a 12-piece limited edition collection incorporating her signature paintings—identifiable by geometric compositions and soft palettes.
“It is a privilege to sponsor an exhibition of Martin’s work," said COS Creative Director Karin Gustafsson. "The incredible richness and tactility of her work has always inspired our fabrics and designs; her use of subtle colour and dedication to her technique and style elevates apparently simple lines and grids to something extraordinary.”
Prep your wardrobe with more muted tones and shop for a good cause (a percentage of the proceeds will be funding the Agnes Martin Foundation) with the newly launched COS essentials, now available in COS stores worldwide.
