Michael Kors Now Has An Orchid Named After Him
Not content with fashion dominance, the designer is conquering the botany world, too

On Monday at Singapore’s Botanic Gardens, Michael Kors attended the unveiling of an orchid variety that has just been named in his honor. Speaking to BAZAAR Singapore at the dendrobium Michael Kors’ christening, the designer cited the elegant lines of orchids as inspiration for his sporty and vibrant designs, which he hopes are as timeless as the beauty of nature itself. Kors plans to cultivate some of his eponymous orchid at his new Florida home.
Never one to let a zinger pass by, the designer turned his famous sense of humour on himself. “My personal wish? I wish I was tall and lean like the orchid” he quipped.
