Maria Grazia Chiuri’s designs for Dior are marked by fitted silhouettes, intricate embroideries, and rich fabrics. The creative director’s personal style, however, is much more low-key. So when many adjusted their dressing habits while in quarantine, her wardrobe remained the same.

“Lockdown hasn’t affected the way I dress tremendously, as I have always favored practical and comfortable items of clothing, from denim to cashmere sweaters,” she tells BAZAAR.com.

This idea of comfort dressing is the basis of Dior Chez Moi, the first collection in the maison’s storied history completely dedicated to loungewear. The range consists of pieces that are ideal for days spent indoors: pajama sets, ponchos, bathrobes, and a few bikini tops and bottoms, should you venture out on to your deck to sunbathe. The footwear—slides, sneakers, and flat ankle boots—also fit the cozy vibe.

Still, Chiuri made sure to imbue the collection with fantasy motifs that are characteristic of Dior. Along with revisiting the brand’s signature toile de Jouy pattern, she enlisted Roman artist Pietro Ruffo to design prints featuring constellations, the world map, and natural elements. The results are playful and chic, and they stay true to Chiuri and Dior’s dreamy aesthetic. Cast on loungewear, they are perfect for quarantine life, but will also remain de rigueur well past this trying period.

“The Dior Chez Moi collection addresses our need for elegance and comfort in these unprecedented times,” Chiuri says. “I sought to create this line to accompany us in this new context, when so many of our social interactions have been replaced by time spent at home.”
