It's been three years since the tire company's iconic calendar moved away from their signature sexed up look. The 2018 calendar continued on it's new path, trading scantily-clad models for the romantic and imaginative. "Alice has been told so many times", Tim Walker said, "and I think I wanted to go back to the genesis of the imagination behind Lewis Carroll so that you could tell it from the very beginning again. I wanted to find a different and original angle".

Set designer Shona Heath help create the stunning sets, while super-stylist Edward Enninful was responsible for the costumes. “It is very important that the story of Alice be told to a new generation. Her adventure in Wonderland resonates with the world we live in today; obstacles we have to overcome and the idea of celebrating difference," Enninful said.

This is the second time Pirelli has had an all-black calendar. In 1987 Terence Donovan shot five black women including Naomi Campbell who was 16-years-old at the time.
