High-fashion forays into wearable tech aren’t new (i.e. Louis Vuitton’s smartwatches and Michael Kors’ activity trackers), but this collaboration between Balmain and Beats by Dr. Dre might be the coolest one yet.
Beats just unveiled two new custom designs by the French fashion house—Safari (gold metal detailing on tan leather) and Khaki (gold metal with army green leather)—available in the brand’s Studio Wireless over-ear headphones and Powerbeats3 Wireless earbuds. The earpieces come in suede cases embellished with a gold plated Balmain logo, too.

“Seeing music and fashion as completely intertwined simply reflects how my generation grew up—we simply cannot conceive of one without a full helping of the other,” Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing said in a statement.
The French brand follows labels like Fendi and Alexander Wang, which have previously collaborated with Beats on their own headphone designs.
Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the Balmain-obsessed Kardashian sisters, stars in the sleek ad campaign. “Beats are my favorite headphones, so this is something I’m passionate about and I’m excited to be a part of this campaign,” she said. “Music means so much to me. I can put on a song and just escape. I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling.”
