Sustainability continues to play a huge role in fashion this year. Instead of purchasing a brand new wardrobe, why not revive some of your favourite pieces with affordable and classic staples from the Uniqlo U spring/summer 2021 collection.

Available in varying shades of neutrals and bright colours, this collection marks the 10th instalment of the brand’s Uniqlo U series. Dreamed up by Artistic Director Christophe Lemaire and his team in Paris, the lineup includes 34 items for women, 30 for men and nine pieces for kids (slated to launch at the end of February).

A sense of modernity, simplicity and intentionality underlines the collection, which should come as no surprise since the Uniqlo U collection is part of the brand’s ongoing endeavour to reimagine everyday apparels using innovative materials and novel silhouettes.

This season, women can look forward to pieces made from easy-care and whisper-soft viscose and cotton-poly blend fabrics featuring clean lines and elementary silhouettes. Demi-sheer shirts in classic men’s stripes, denim jeans, tunics, and dresses also make up the collection.

In terms of menswear, think essentials that are durable and pragmatic. Classic styles in prototypical silhouettes in timeless fabrics such as cotton poplin and twill, as well as 3D knits featuring linen-cotton blend are employed here. Work pants and trucker jackets in complementary shades complete the collection.
