Kris van Assche is stepping down from his role as Artistic Director of Dior Homme. Kim Jones, the erstwhile designer of Louis Vuitton’s menswear, will be taking over the top spot at the Parisian label.

Van Assche succeeded Hedi Slimane in 2007 and spent the next 11 years continuously refining the Dior Homme aesthetic with a tailored mix of lean and voluminous silhouettes. Meanwhile, Jones fuelled rumours of him joining the fold at Burberry when he had Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss model two trench coats—widely regarded as a Burberry icon—during his swansong for Louis Vuitton. That job went to Riccardo Tisci instead.

Jones is expected to show his first collection for Dior Homme later this year during the spring/summer 2019 shows.
