When you think about Black Friday, it’s likely that discounted, well everything, and countless sales or promo codes come to mind. Here to completely reframe the narrative around the shoppers’ holiday, Nanushka is taking a more eco-conscious approach and releasing a bespoke collection of upcycled pieces as an alternative to a blowout event. And we’re here for it. (The fact that all styles are marked down 50 percent from their original price tags is an added bonus.)

“At Nanushka, no fabric goes to waste,” founder Sandra Sandor explained about the premise behind the upcycled collection. “Our consistent commitment to nature means that we upcycle our deadstock materials for upcoming collections. We wanted to create a dedicated program that really celebrates this part of our design philosophy and drives our continued vision to embrace a more responsible, circular fashion model forward. This is never more important than during the sheer consumption associated with the Black Friday weekend.”

Tapping into the archives, the creative director transformed the brand’s beloved silhouettes into pieces that are on par with what’s currently on the market by way of new (old) fabrics and colors. The pieces on offer are quintessentially Nanushka and include a mix of ready-to-wear garments and accessories options for women, like easy silk satin separates and vegan leather outerwear in the colour of the season: green.
The eight-day event starts Monday, November 22, and lasts well through the holiday weekend. Shop online at nanushka.com.
