Another September, another New York Fashion Week season upon us. As the glitzy fashion events take over our calendars and the street style stars descend, one presence is greatly (and noticeably) missing: Bill Cunningham, who died in June at the age of 87.The legendary fashion photographer and his iconic blue jacket have been Fashion Week staples for nearly 40 years, so to say it’s disheartening to not see him in action this week would be a major understatement.
But today, to kick off the first official day of NYFW, fashion photographers paid tribute to the late Cunningham in the most beautiful way: by wearing his signature blue jacket in the photo pits.
Could you think of a more fitting way to remember the beloved fashion photographer? We’ll miss you this week, Bill.
