The Peekaboo bag, as seen on the fall/winter 2017 runway

Fendi’s Peekaboo bag greeted the world during the spring/summer 2008 season and since then it has become an icon in Fendi’s arsenal of hit bags. The bag has taken on various forms over the years, turning up on shelves in luxurious leathers versions, embellished with studs or decorated with floral embroidery. It has also made the crossover to Fendi’s menswear universe.

For fall 2017, the Italian brand has released velvet reiterations of the Peekaboo. In line with Fendi’s ethos of pushing the boundaries of craft, a special weaving technique has been used to create the beautiful tapestry-like pattern on the bag.

Good news for Peekaboo devotees here: Fendi will launch a limited edition Mini Peekaboo in velvet to coincide with the reopening of the Ngee Ann City store.
