One of the most awaited shows at Milan Fashion Week, Ferragamo entered a new dawn under the creative direction of Maximilian Davis. The 27-year-old fashion prodigy brought his own design language that aims to entice a younger clientele to the historic Florentine house. His first big decision was to drop the ‘Salvatore’ from the brand’s name as if to let the world know that like other one-name-only cultural icons such as Madonna and Cher, his version of Ferragamo comes with strong identifiers.

His spring/summer 2023 debut look raised the bar with a loose camel trench coat and pantsuit ensemble that was striking amidst the backdrop of deep red sand. What came after that exemplified Davis’ insights into his generation. The sexy yet sophisticated dresses and separates with interesting cutouts and close-to-body cuts also included the playful usage of heat-sensitive textiles. The runway looked hotter with each look, thanks to the infusion of Greco-Roman draperies and Y2K-inflected accessories adding youthful nonchalance into the collection.
