Front Row At London Fashion Week With Samsung

Three hectic days, 13 shows and volatile weather summed up our whirlwind London Fashion Week schedule. Here, some of our favourite images from the front row and behind-the-scenes caught on our trusty fashion accessory, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phone

London Fashion Week is traditionally the shortest in the Fashion Week calendar but that does not mean that it does not pack a punch. This was especially so for the recent fall/winter 2020 season which saw a vibrant and optimistic outing by its designers. At least, that was the takeaway from ou whirlwind trip to the city in the middle of February. Not even the political and economic uncertainties, the threat of a global pandemic, or the freakish weather could dent the spirit of London’s designers.

Two of the city's brightest names, Molly Goddard and Richard Quinn, served an exuberant and energetic collection of bold proportions, rich fabrics and colours—lots of them. While London transplants, the Chinese-born Huishan Zhang and the American Michael Halpern, continued to build on their tailored and couture-inflected narrative, making a case for London's fashion mettle and inescapable connection with the rest of continental Europe and its couture maisons. Take that, Brexiters.

That sense of reinvention in these weird times played out over and over again throughout the 13 shows we attended in the three days we spent in London. From JW Anderson's brilliant proposition of gigantic coats and bouncy, shaggy ballgown dresses to the glittering Jazz Age designs at Erdem, the mood was feel-good. Here, we highlight all the energy and buzz of the London shows from the FROW and behind-the-scenes that we captured on our Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphone.
