Giles Deacon will be concentrating solely on his couture line this year after announcing plans to close his ready-to-wear label.

"We want to focus on what we do well, and maximise the success of the red carpet and private client work we've been doing over the past four years," Deacon told WWD. "We want to be the go-to business for super-special day-wear and eveningwear, to focus on what we are known for, and what our customers want from us. With couture, it means I get to show autumn in July, with delivery in September. My clients will be getting their pieces in season."

The British designer's exquisite gowns are a favourite among the A-list on the red carpet, with his pieces frequently worn by stylish stars including Cate Blanchett, Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwendoline Christie.

He will join the Paris couture schedule in July.
