Seventeen's The8, Barbara Palvin And Contemporary Elegance At Givenchy Spring/Summer 2024
Matthew M. Williams presents his take on sleek elegance and dark romanticism.
Erected within the grounds of the École Militairen Paris’ École-Militaire and designed in partnership with New York-based architect Gabriel Calatrava, the sculptural show set for Givenchy Spring/Summer 2024 reflected a calm, pristine vibe—the perfect backdrop to showcase Matthew M. Williams' interpretation of contemporary elegance.
Sleek yet sensual tailoring came in the form of strong-shouldered outerwear contrasted with sheer slip dresses with delicate motifs of pansies, iris and gypsophila; plunging V-necks, thigh-high slits, as well as sumptuous drapes and flowy silhouettes. Edgy leather looks and embellished eveningwear with dark undertones also evoked the sophisticated-meets-sexy attitude of the Givenchy woman. When it came to accessories, stilettos were encased in fabric wrapped around the heel, while bags were adorned with architectural hardware.
