Givenchy's New Mystic Handbag Reprises Haute Couture Signatures

It's versatile enough to accompany a variety of looks

As part of its Pre-Fall 2019 collection, Givenchy has unveiled a new handbag which was inspired by Artistic Director Clare Waight Keller’s Haute Couture silhouettes and simultaneously suggests power and restraint while combining sophistication and softness.

The Mystic is a slightly structured top handle bag with a V-shaped flap and a tab closure. According to the brand, the name of the bag is an ode to the half-hidden lock, which when closed aligns to form a double-G, and when open revels the metal logo plate.

Handcrafted from fine calf leather and contrasting suede, the bag is versatile enough to accompany a variety of looks and is fitted with a removable, adjustable strap so it can be worn in a variety of ways, from hand-carry to cross-body. There’s also a practical back flat pocket to keep your essentials close to hand.

From hand-made topstitching and hand-painted edging to a handle which features a hand-applied bombé cushion that ensures comfort and, with wear, takes on an individual patina, the Mystic truly showcases the high level of craftsmanship Givenchy is known for.
