With the new direction at Gucci under Alessandro Michele, the brand is taking a turn for the artistic—something that it is reinforcing with its new, exciting Instagram initiative: #GucciGram. Inviting 30 emerging artists from across the world, Gucci has tasked them with reinterpreting their #GGBloom and #GGCaleido prints and the results are simply stunning. “I’m really interested in the past and the contemporary,” Michele said in an interview. “My apartment is full of antique pieces, but I put everything together like a modern installation.” With this spirit in mind, the artists drew inspiration from the old and the new, creating their own versions of art in innovative ways ranging from Chris Rellas’s (@copylab) revision of a Renaissance painting to Reilly’s (@hey_reilly) bricolage of images incorporating Gucci’s iconic prints. Here, we choose the 12 most impressive images that made us stop scrolling through our feeds to appreciate the pure creativity of their work.
