Berluti has appointed Colombian designer Haider Ackermann as its new Creative Director. “I’m very honoured to join Berluti,” Ackermann said in a statement. “This house stands for the essence of luxury menswear and embracing this new adventure inspires me.” A graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Ackermann launched his eponymous womenswear line in 2003 and soon caught the eye of the industry with his skillful tailoring and draping techniques—all done to a dark, romantic tone. It was only until a decade later that Ackermann made his foray into the menswear realm, and those were also equally lauded for their richness. His debut for Berluti will take place next January, during Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
