The Marc Jacobs is the newest division of Marc Jacobs International comprising ready-to-wear bags, shoes, jewellery and accessories in celebration of eclecticism and individualism. According to Jacobs, it was born out of wanting to do something unlike the collections they’ve already done. “These items are things that you could put together in your own way; it’s more about personal styling than about having a full runway look,” the designer said in a press release.
In typical Marc Jacobs fashion, he drew upon music, art and pop culture as inspiration for the new line. You can expect everything from cotton printed t-shirts to sequin cocktail dresses and patent leather pumps. The Marc Jacobs is also more affordable and accessible. Furthermore, collaborations will be a mainstay for The Marc Jacobs and it already has two collaborations to tout—one with New York magazine and another with Peanuts. Both collaborations encompass bags, clothes and accessories.
