How To Look Stylish In Cropped Tops

Keep things cool and fresh in the latest crop of midriff-bearing pieces. Time to get your abs in check.

It’s time to break out the cropped tops as we transition back into warmer weather. This season’s smorgasbord of offerings presents the cooling staple in dozens of flattering cuts and styles that will stand you in good stead for sunny days ahead. At Balmain, it was all about edgy glamour, with strong shoulders and shimmer teamed with a plunging neckline. Versace, meanwhile, gave classic prints a cool spin with an abridged version of a vibrant striped shirt, styled open with thin tie-straps cinching it close under the bust, casually worn over a bra top and with a midi skirt that hung loosely on the hips. Louis Vuitton switched things up with a mix-and-match approach that played with graphic prints and textures, while Tod’s kept it clean and chic with an athletic vibe. For an office-appropriate take, look to Chanel, where a cropped version of a classic cardigan was worn with high-waisted trousers and a matching jacket for a playful peekaboo effect.
