At our recent photoshoot with Bentley, we found out that the BAZAAR woman and British luxury car brand have more in common than we thought — and we’re not just talking about the art of arriving in style. It is a high level of appreciation for masterful craftsmanship, luxurious materials, elegant lines and steely modernism, all beautifully blended with a fearless spirit. We list down the features we love…
1. The stalwart engine that roars when you put the pedal to the metal.
Beneath the bonnet lies a four-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that will take you from 0 to 96.56km/h in 4.3 seconds, and can climb all the way to its top speed of 309 km/h perfect for speed demons on a driving trip beyond our shores.

2. Lowered sports suspension that improves agility, body control and cornering, all while enhancing stability at higher road speeds.
This, thanks to Lower Body Styling Specification features like the front splitter, side sills and a rear diffuser that improves the car’s aerodynamics by reducing front-end lift.

3. The effortlessly chic interiors.
It’s like the 2.55 of cars — luxuriously quilted black and white leather is juxtaposed with gleaming Bentley wood veneers that have been cured for 72 hours, sanded up to 18 times, and treated with five layers of clear lacquer by hand. Knurled chrome details are added for sleek finishing touches.

4. We can stay connected while on-the-go.
The Bentley Continental GT V8 S boasts Bluetooth connectivity and an infotainment system with a 30GB hard drive that provides quick access to mapping data, landscape imagery, live traffic data and an online search for points-of-interest. There is also Naim, the Bentley Premium Audio System that promises to deliver some of the best in-car audio experiences in the world.

5. Its efficiency and low CO2 emissions, which are a mere 250g/km.
This is due to variable displacement, in which four of the eight cylinders switch off at gentler throttle openings or when you’re just cruising, and just act as gas springs. This reduces fuel consumption and cuts both frictional and gas transfer losses.
