When the gilded doors to Givenchy’s store at Paragon are thrown open to the public on 27 August 2015, you can be sure that devotees will be rushing in, not in twos and threes, but in droves. Following an extensive redesign and expansion, the revamped store will now boast a fresh façade that invites guests into an intimate retail haven that spans 290 square metres. At the heart of its refurbishment lies the same design concept that graces the maison’s concept store on 28 Faubourg Saint-Honoré, Paris. What this essentially means is that you can expect Givenchy’s Paragon boutique to faithfully evoke the vision of its creative director, Riccardo Tisci, with aristocratic elegance, dark romanticism, sensuality and renewed classicism in tow.
Inspired by the iconic Givenchy boxes used when presenting haute couture garments to its clients, the concept of the store revolves around the idea of discovering something precious and beautiful within. One particular design element that pays homage to its haute heritage is the natural oak herringbone parquet of the Paragon store, which similarly adorns Givenchy’s couture salons on Avenue George V. Furthermore, the store is sectioned into three room-sized wardrobes boxes with interiors that are furnished with burnt oak on finely-grained Sivec marble; the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, as well as accessories, each having their own dedicated space.
Designed to resemble open boxes, the store’s ready-to-wear section presents an inviting and enticing mix: Think part display and part walk-in-wardrobe. Here, you will discover Givenchy’s latest women’s ready-to-wear collections hanging on the racks (yes, the pre-fall 2015 collection and FW15’s much-hyped Victorian chola girl-inspired collection will be in stores), accompanied by the brand’s full range of shoes.
Adjacent to this is the men’s ready-to-wear area, the store will debut one of Tisci’s most personal menswear collection to date. Inspired by Tisci’s travels and exploration of subcultures from abroad, the tough yet tailored and utterly cool streetwear collection is sure to be a hit with the brand’s male fans.
Last but not least is the accessories section, which will be stocked to the brim with Givenchy’s most iconic and beloved bag styles, seasonal updates, and fashion jewellery collection. Presented on black lacquered podiums for all to see (and, no doubt, admire), Givenchy accessories room takes the words “eye candy” to a whole new level.
