Karl Lagerfeld’s photo exhibition in Havana on the night before his spectacular #ChanelCruiseCuba show. Titled “Work In Progress” the exhibition was across 3 floors at the Factoria Habana in the center of the city. Amidst crumbling cobbled stone lanes lined with the most magnificent buildings and Hot salsa bars, this renovated space was a tribute to the colonial beauty of this once forgotten city, now THE Hottest location for everyone keen to see the architecture, beautiful locals and the thriving arts and music scene. Of course Havana wouldn’t be complete without potent mojitos and coke and rum as dashing Latin waiters darted around the art space, serving cool plates of guava and melon to a fashion crowd flown in from all corners of the globe.

The retrospective work of Mr Lagerfeld was on walls and tables, with a special installation on the 3rd floor to his handsome muse, Baptiste Giabiconi, in erotic semi nude poses, casted on tracing paper left hanging from the ceiling in negative effect prints.

Looking through the archives of Lagerfeld, he truly has shot some of the worlds greatest supermodels like The Trinity Cindy, Christy and Naomi and made them stars which are still relevant in the fashion world today. It was a sight to behold the bevy of alien models in cool off-duty garb together with the fashion flock teetering on heels across lanes lined with locals in boob tubes and Daisy Dukes keen to see what the fuss is all about. Clearly they couldn’t see that the fuss was really all about them.
