The golden boy of American cool took over at the helm of Balenciaga in December 2012 following Nicolas Ghesquière's departure and has since triumphed as creative director. The Paris fashion house has seen a rejuvenation of its storied luxury aesthetic updated for the modern generation since Wang made his Balenciaga debut—not to mention a growth in profits.

According to WWD, however, there is much speculation that the two might split. Alexander Wang remains under contract with Balenciaga through the Spring 2016 collection, which will show in Paris this fall. Pending contract renewal negotiations, the end of Wang's Balenciaga regime could be imminent—the likelihood of which is still unconfirmed.
