Met Gala 2023: Jennifer Lopez Sports A Sultry Ralph Lauren Cutout Gown

Jennifer Lopez always knows how to make a major Met Gala entrance.

To mark the first Monday in May, J.Lo stepped out in a jaw-dropping custom silk velvet halter-neck gown with a draped, handmade silk satin skirt. The ultra sexy dress by Ralph Lauren featured intricate detailing, such as a floral collar with hand-molded petals, black silk evening gloves, and a matching petite beret with sculptural tulle. The singer's black platform heels by Piferi peeked under her pale pink satin skirt as she posed for photos on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

While Lopez didn't bring her husband, actor and director Ben Affleck, along for the occasion, the pair have been keeping busy since their wedding heard around the world last year. Affleck will be directing an upcoming feature starring Lopez titled Unstoppable, based on the real life story of wrestler Anthony Robles and also starring When They See Us's Jharrel Jerome. Alongside new films, Lopez is also gearing up to release her highly anticipated ninth studio album this summer that per the singer herself, is all about Affleck and their recently rekindled romance.

"[The initial breakup] sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right. Couldn’t get it right,” Lopez previously said of how their relationship inspired the upcoming album. “But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending. It has the most would-never-happen-in-Hollywood ending. ‘That would never happen. We’re not going to write that because nobody would believe it’ ending.”
