Kaia Gerber's Capsule Shoe Collection with Jimmy Choo is Perfect

Though only 18 years old, Kaia Gerber has taken the fashion world by storm. She fronts major advertisements, closes down the catwalks at big-ticket fashion shows, and graces magazine covers on the regular. Recently, thanks to Jimmy Choo, she has taken on a much larger role behind the scenes.

The accessories brand has not only enlisted Gerber to front its spring 2020 campaign, but also to help design a four-piece capsule collection dubbed Jimmy Choo and Kaia.

“Kaia is a modern supermodel,” said Sandra Choi, the company’s creative director, in a statement. “She represents the archetypal Jimmy Choo muse for a new era. Off the catwalk, Kaia has a signature personal style that is the epitome of effortless cool.”

Since first being contracted by Jimmy Choo three seasons ago, Gerber has been consistently photographed wearing the brand’s Cruz boots. And it was because of the way she styled the shoe—mixing it with motifs from the ’90s (when her mother, Cindy Crawford, reigned over the runways)—that led Choi to have a deeper conversation with the ingénue. The talks resulted in a collection that speaks to the decade’s sleek, minimalist tendencies.

From the black mules with kitten heels and snakeskin slingbacks with pointed toes to the printed combats and ankle boots, the entire line is a faithful representation of Gerber’s personal style. She did, after all, have a hand in designing it.

“I jumped at the chance to work with Sandra on my dream capsule of shoe and boot styles,” Gerber said. “It was such an honor to be able to brainstorm creatively and I am so thrilled with the result.”

In addition, the Jimmy Choo and Kaia line has a charitable component. The brand will donate 15 percent of all sales to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, a long-standing institution that treats childhood cancers and pediatric diseases.
