Legendary Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake has died of liver cancer in a hospital in Tokyo on August 5, according to a statement released by Issey Miyake Group. The globally revered designer was 84 years old. There will be no funeral or memorial services, as per his wishes.
Miyaka is renowned for embracing traditional handcrafts and new technologies. He was the founder of Miyake Design Studio as well as Issey Miyake Group.
