Loewe Adds A New Member To Its Leather Menagerie: The Giant Panda
The fuzzy heart-stealer is the holiday season’s charming accessory

The panda is a pretty irresistible animal, known for its status as a symbol of conservation, as well as its undeniable cuteness. The gentle giant will soon join the bear, bull and elephant in Loewe’s leather menagerie, which was invented almost by accident through the playful experiments of craftsman at the brand’s workshops in Madrid. A line of hand-made coin purse and mini-bag beasties was born from just a couple of cleverly placed stitches on leather, though the two-toned panda presents Loewe’s craftsmen a unique challenge: its black and white edges are hand-painted using a process involving no less than six phases. Adorable but difficult, just as in real life.
