Fashion In Review: Highlights From London Fashion Week FW17 Day 4

All the best looks from Antonio Berardi, Joseph and London's hottest star Dilara

In a fortuitous twist of fate, on Day Four of London Fashion Week, temperature in the English capital soared to the highest it had ever been for the winter month of February.

And just as excitable fashion editors scurried to peel off the layers of cashmere and fur off their backs at the Strand, Italian designer Antonio Berardi brought the sartorial set back to a comfortably cosy winter wonderland for his latest offering. Plunged in snow and undeniable glamour — situated somewhere in the exotic Orient — the Berardi tribe of women wore the most majestic gabardine suits and diaphanous gowns with obi sashes. And as if they've just been back from a day of horse riding on frozen lakes, they also sported windswept braids and sun-kissed cheeks. For a brief moment there, we totally forgot about the heatwave.

From the staging of a protest graduate fashion show outside her alma mater Central Saint Martins, to her admirable feminist beliefs, Turkish designer Dilara Findikoglu's talent is as hot as the freak weather today. Described by the initiated as British fashion's hottest rebel, the fashion pack were treated to Findikoglu's brand of weird and wonderful creations at her presentation — bodysuits boasted swirling and possibly malevolent dragons and fur; alongside metallic dresses. Never a dull proposition with this girl.

And as the weather cooled, things took a different aesthetic turn at the Joseph show in the evening. Creative Director Louise Trotter introduced an impressive collection of luxurious shin-grazing coats and knits in a colour palette so nuanced, the occasional addition of vivid pinks and reds to delicious whites and greys make it a picture perfect finish for the day.
