Fashion press of the world, get your travelling trunks ready! Louis Vuitton has announced that they will be taking a trip down South to showcase their cruise 2016 collection next year—Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, to be exact. This comes just on the heels of Chanel making their stake for Cuba for their own cruise presentations, and entirely keeping in line with the trend of luxury fashion houses hosting elaborate presentations in exotic locations for the increasingly important trans-seasonal collections.
According to a report by Vogue UK, creative director Nicolas Ghesquière will show his second cruise collection in the city on 28 May 2016, right before the 2016 Olympics kick off in August, making Rio the hottest place (quite literally) to be once July rolls around.
Previously, the French brand has taken its shows to spectacular locations such as Palm Springs and Monaco.
