Lupita Nyong'o's Calvin Klein Oscar Gown Stolen

The custom dress featured 6,000 pearls and was valued at $150,000

Always one for a major red carpet moment, Lupita Nyong'o didn't hesitate to make a statement at Sunday night's Oscars, where she turned heads in a white custom Calvin Klein gown encrusted with 6,000 hand-sewn pearls. But now, the Daily News has confirmed that the red-carpet dress was stolen from the actress's hotel room yesterday.

The gown, valued at $150,000, was stolen sometime on Tuesday while Nyong'o was out of her room. The actress couldn't immediately file a police report because the dress was on loan from and property of Calvin Klein. Police are investigating the theft, sifting through the hotel's surveillance footage in order track it down. Nyong'o was traveling with a large entourage, all of whom had access into the actress's hotel room, a source told the Daily News. So far, no leads have been confirmed in the investigation.
