Who says fashion doesn't give back? For the past four years, Michael Kors (both the company and the person) have taken an active role in the fight against world hunger—whether from proceeds through the brand's watch sales or through its "Watch Hunger Stop" campaign that raises awareness about the issue.
Last night, Kors's efforts were recognised at the annual McGovern-Dole Leadership Award Ceremony, organised by the World Food Program USA. Vice President of the United States Joe Biden presented the fashion designer/philanthropist at the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C.
“I’m thrilled and humbled to receive this award, and more importantly, to be a part of the incredible work that WFP does day in and day out, all over the world, to help fight hunger,” said Kors.
