Milan Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Bottega Veneta Fall/ Winter 2020

Fiery yet elegant

Bottega Veneta FW20

Subtlety has always been an inherent part of Bottega Venta’s DNA, from streamlined leather coats to sleek woven bags (intrecciato, as the company calls it) to sharp suits. This recipe, however, was given a little spice three seasons ago, when Daniel Lee took over creative reins, bringing the brand greater attention to the street style set—particularly with the Pouch bags he showed for spring 2020. And for his third show at Milan Fashion Week, the Brit sprinkled in oversized shearling coats with fringe hems, halter-neck dresses with the same detailing, long-sleeved sequined gowns in saturated hues paired with waterproof boots, and ruched sparkling numbers with pronounced sleeves. The accessories were equally peppery and included updated takes on the intrecciato with fringe (a major leitmotif throughout the Milan runways) and knee-high leather boots with square toes. Still, with all these fiery gestures, the elegance associated with the label permeated all over the lineup, proving Lee’s deftness in BV’s kitchen.
