
For Miumiu Club 2020 – their subversive take on a cruise collection – Miuccia Prada invited guests out to Hippodrome d’Auteuil, a Paris horse-racing track dating back to 1873. If guests were somewhat surprised by her venue choice, the sagacious designer had a simple answer: the horse-track was as a venue, traditionally conservative, while Miu Miu is decidedly not.

She was chasing the juxtaposition, which with her Croisière 2020 fashion show, she did very well. The collection was full of high waisted short-shorts paired with cork or mirror-soled platforms, emphasising the lithe, endless legs of her bevy of models. Girly tea dresses appeared with upsized Chelsea collars, while glitzy mini-dresses had contrasting poufy sleeves – attention-grabbing, fun, and very much the opposite of the typically buttoned-up horse track dress code.
The show was preceded by a horse race – of course – then followed by an exclusive after-party that left guests with a night to remember. Here, we round up the best looks from the collection:
