StyleTribute.com Founder, Bohemian spirit, vintage fashion seeker

Harper's BAZAAR Singapore: What look defines your style?

Stephanie Crespin: Vintage, with a touch of rock and roll. I like getting inspired by iconic, timeless fashion pieces or silhouettes of past ages: ’20s Art Deco jewellery, the French elegance of Dior in the ’50s, Indian batik blouses from the ’60s, high-waisted jeans of the ’80s, embroidered separates of the ’90s... I enjoy mixing pieces from different eras, like a Nirvana t-shirt with a structured knee-length skirt cinched at the waist with a big silver-buckled black belt.

HB: What are your fashion “security blankets”?

SC: Boots! In every shade, style and length. They instantly edge up any outfit, boost your mood and  empower your stride.

HB: What are your beauty insecurities?

SC: My chin, but knowing your flattering selfie angle helps. On the flip side, my wild curly hair uplifts any look I wear. The natural and untamed style reflects my spirit best.

HB: When do you feel most beautiful?

SC: I loved being pregnant and felt in harmony with my full body shape—and my skin was amazing! Post-pregnancy has been a whole different ball game, however; so now I wear more floaty silhouettes to hide any unwanted curves that haven’t budged.

HB: How are you giving back to society?

SC: At StyleTribute.com, we strongly believe in fashion with a heart. We work with UN Women Singapore and take an active role in their fundraising through various mechanisms on the site that offer ways for sellers and buyers to give back. Sellers can give back a portion, or total, of their revenue from selling their items; similarly, those shopping on the platform can share their love and help fund UNW initiatives that help women and young girls at-risk in Singapore. The next luxury purchase will mean much more as it impacts the lives of women around them.
