As with shoes, women look out for different things when it comes to their arm candies. More often than not, it’s bejewelled and petite for posh affairs, small but practical (preferably with a crossbody length strap) for a night clubbing with the girls. And for a day running about town, it’s a sleek, fuss-free number that ranks high on both style and functionality. That’s where Cartier’s latest range of handbags Must de Cartier comes in.

Available in easy-to-match hues of burgundy, beige and black, the collection showcases three key styles: A hobo bag, a saddle bag (both of which are available in three sizes of medium, small and nano) and a generously-sized tote that’s perfect for laptops and document files. The bags are instantly identifiable by a clean, structured silhouette that’s been prominently marked with a large, saddle-stitched embossed logo on their fronts – much in keeping with their original precursors of 1973 – while an ardillon buckle bearing a stylised C adorns the adjustable shoulder straps of the hobo and saddle styles.

And of course, to complement the line-up is a range of small leather goods including a mini-wallet, a flap wallet, a card holder and a business card holder to complete the sleek, urbanite vision with finesse. This is Cartier we are talking about after all. Nothing less would have been expected.
