Balenciaga Goes Peak Dad At Men's Fashion Week
An ode to all our favorite fathers
You never know what you're going to get from a Demna Gvasalia-designed Balenciaga show. One season it may be Bernie Sanders-inspired and the next it's a riff on couture designs of the past.
In true expect-the-unexpected form, the Georgian designer payed special attention to the dad set with a menswear collection that, according to show notes, is inspired by "young dads in the park with their kids at the weekend."

Models walked the runway wearing variations of "dad" looks—jeans that are a little too wide paired with slightly oversized blazers, high-waist pants with button down shirts—arm in arm or even carrying child models. Some men also walked Balenciaga bicycles, which will be sold exclusively at Colette.

Each kid wore a classic Balenciaga look, down to the oversized hoodies and chunky sneakers.

Though a lack of dad hats seems like an oversight (or maybe they're too played out?), a smiling Kyle MacLachlan (aka Trey MacDougal aka Dale Cooper) sitting front row more than makes up for it.
