Thanaerng Is Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore’s December 2025 Cover Star
Such a delight!
December has this funny way of making the whole year feel like one long exhale. And what a year it’s been. 2025 felt unreal, especially by fashion standards. Creative directors jumping between New York, Milan and Paris; houses reinventing themselves before you’d even digested the last runway show. A season of shake-ups and sharp turns, with audiences trying to keep abreast of what’s happening while the industry rewrote its rules in real time. Meanwhile, I’m still trying to figure out what matters beneath all the brilliance and noise.

Which is why Thanaerng felt right to be our cover star this month. There’s something disarmingly uncalculated about her. Twelve years in Thai showbiz, a career that began with a quest for a phone upgrade, and now, she’s a Bottega muse who still giggles at the wonder of it all. That mix of instinct and grace matches the mood of a year that rewarded people who led with their gut.
Jacket, Loewe. T-shirt; jeans; spectacles; jewellery, Kenneth’s own. White gold, diamond and spinel Jewels by Nature Fairy Iris ring, Chaumet. Grooming: Grego.

Menswear, meanwhile, threw subtlety out the window. Halternecks, pearls, thigh-skimming shorts, and a level of male bravado with glistening chests I didn’t see coming. Jacob Elordi and his emotional-support Bottegas, Jonathan Bailey making flip-flops hot, Pedro Pascal turning a “protect the dolls” slogan tee into a cultural talking point. Chaotic, sure. But also wonderfully liberating to watch.
Then there’s Christopher Lee, who arrived on set asking for just a kopi-o and with a quiet, steady humility that feels increasingly rare. Thirty years in, and he still works with sincerity instead of spectacle. People like him remind me why this job still matters, even after all these seasons: the joy of meeting someone who wears their craft lightly.

And let’s not forget our annual Stylish List. It’s proof that style is never one thing. It can be sweatshirts and Crocs or baggy jeans and heirloom watches. It’s all about the quiet confidence of choosing what feels most like you.
So here’s to ending the year with a little clarity, a touch of sparkle, and the hope that we are all stepping into 2026 wearing something that feels most like truth. Make honesty the last word in chic. Happy holidays, dear readers.
