Exclusive! Your First Look At Gucci's Spring/Summer 2019 Ad Campaign
The short film pays homage to classics like 'Singing in the Rain'
Drama! Theatrics! We all love the 40s and 50s, not just for the glamour but also for the vibrant technicolour that films made back then had. Gucci's latest spring/summer 2019 ad campaign takes inspiration from classic Hollywood films such as 'Singing in the Rain', 'There's No Business Like Show Business' and more. Shot and directed by Glen Luchford, with Alessandro Michele as the Creative Director, we can now feast our eyes on Gucci's first ever 'musical', complete with choreography and vintage croons from 'Annie Get Your Gun'.
True to the maximalist DNA of Gucci, the over-the-top sets and vibrant 40s makeup, makes for the perfect backdrop to Gucci's SS19 pieces. It's an extravaganza of sequins, sparkling head pieces and plush velvet blazers being displayed in front of the camera. This played in perfect juxtaposition of the 'behind-the-scenes' moments captured after the Intermission, where we see the crew's more subdued outfits contrasting starkly with the Hollywood stars who are, quite literally, dripping in sparkles.
