At the premiere of The Killing of a Sacred Deer during the Cannes Film Festival last night, Nicole Kidman wore a breathtaking Calvin Klein By Appointment dress, which had her looking like the perfect ballerina.
The dress featured a black bias-cut, double-faced silk duchess satin bustier with a white hand cut silk tulle skirt finished with a silk waistband and delicate suspenders. Scroll down to see the intricate details and exactly what went into making the dress.

The bustier featured a tulle lining that provides its structure.

And was outfitted with custom moulded cups and corset boning.

The skirt was constructed from over 70 individually hand cut layers of silk tulle.

It featured panels of 15 different lengths, each cut four times so that the tulle was precisely layered to create graduating fullness.

The meticulous construction required over 150 hours of assembly, and approximately 165 meters of silk tulle.

The finished product made for one of our favourite dresses of the Cannes Film Festival so far. She teamed it with black, patent leather, high-heeled deco pumps, and carried a sterling silver metal box clutch, both by Calvin Klein By Appointment. Red carpet perfection.
