In a cross section between sports, heritage and innovation, Onitsuka Tiger’s latest collection further develops the brand's stylistic signatures through a notable Spring/Summer 2024 show under the creative direction of Andrea Pompillio.

Local stars Ayden Sng and Carrie Wong represented Singapore as special guests to witness the runway show first-hand at Milan fashion week this past September. While they were there, they also modelled the same collection in a special shoot with Harper's BAZAAR Singapore the following day.

The vibe of the collection was sophisticated, modern and elegant; with flowing silhouettes and cocoon outerwear on display. The coats were lightweight, worn on top of gauzy tanks and Bermuda shorts; while the dresses came with feminine details aplenty, including transparency, asymmetry, and innovative cutouts.

A highlight of the collection was the selection of materials used. There were double-faced cotton and see-through nylon knits that revealed the skin. A special floral print with a faded effect, created in collaboration with Japanese textile graphic brand nowartt, was inspired by nature's four main elements—earth, water, fire, and wind.

The knitwear, another highlight, was transformable. Rib knitted jumpers and cardigans had cutouts below the sleeve joints, and they were worn either conventionally or with the arms exposed and knotted on the chest. The collection’s colour palette was composed of black, cement grey and sage green to contrast the special floral prints, punctuated by Onitsuka Tiger's iconic Tiger Yellow.

Of course, we can't forget the shoes. The collection showcased new sneaker designs, with shoes of different heights (slip-ons, high-cuts, ankle boots), each with coated canvas uppers and contrasting bold yellow on the front of the sole. There were also leather boots in yellow and black.
