Cult New York skating label Supreme has announced its latest covetable collaboration, a collection created with American photographer Nan Goldin. You are probably familiar with her work even if you have not directly heard of her – the photographer took some of the most iconic images of New York nightlife back in the 1970s and the 1980s.

“Nan Goldin’s work is real and raw – in the time, places and subject matter she shot,” Supreme said in a statement. “It comes from an era where the subjects she documented were taboo by society’s standards. To do this project with Nan Goldin is to celebrate the diversity her work represents and expose young people to it.”

Her photography featured raw images of friends during the AIDS epidemic, and she also explored gender and sexuality throughout her work.

For the collection, Supreme explored Goldin’s archives and printed some of her most famous photographs on colourful T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and skateboards.

The collection will launch in store and online from tomorrow 29 March. Expect queues.
