New York Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Jason Wu Spring 2017

All the best looks from NYFW

Jason Wu's Hugo Boss gig is definitely influencing his signature spring collection. While he's been leaning in a less overtly feminine direction of late, spring tempered the severe-sexy beat he's been working of late. Sure there was skin showing, but it was done subtly.

The runway told a tale of his two loves: the print-and frill-loving filly and the woman in control (and who is probably also shopping at Hugo Boss for her work wear). On the one hand, sheer floral dresses, jackets and minis—some layered, others trimmed with neon seams and appliqués.

And on the other, the same fluid, flouncy silhouettes were rendered in darker hues with contrasting trim. It should also be noted that his partnership with Woolmark allowed for spring wools to done up in season-less separates that will work in in-between weather.

There was a lot of sheerness in diaphanous tulle dresses that were ruched, pulled and tucked this and that way. There was no place to hide, except a shredded evening jacket that could easily translate for day with a pair of worn-in jeans.

While Wu stuck to the traditional show calendar, showing Spring/Summer 2017, the colour palette was definitely aimed at a year-round wardrobe, from bright neons and pink to shades of blue and black.
