New York Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Tory Burch Spring 2017

Burch brought the East Coast and West Coast together

Tory Burch has gone to Morocco and lived La Dolce Vida in recent seasons, but the designer has her feet planted firmly in the USA for Spring 2017—and contrary to some opinions, America is looking great (again). Burch brought the East Coast and West Coast together (on the 20th anniversary of Tupac's death, ironically),and she began East with what she calls "hostess" chic.

A cropped top and matching printed skirt definitely suited to an outdoor lobster bake at a Nantucket estate in silk Georgette and silk shantung. The garden print in preppy shades of green and pink was nothing short of pretty—almost cinematic in its appeal.

Speaking of New England, there was red, white and blue, sailboat prints and loafers, all at once. Paired with a white pussy bow blouse and plaid skirt, a printed boy jacket with a collegiate-by-the-sea vibe was just the thing for Burch's prep girls.

And suddenly that ease transitioned to retro Cali surf culture with a printed burlap top worn with a floral maxi skirt and red shoulder bag. It was a contrast for sure, but the whole story was all all-American fun in the sun and who can argue with that?

Burch can always be counted on for a flowing, flowery caftan and windswept hair, a gentle reminder to wear approachable, pretty clothes that make you feel good. It's a refreshing notion to relax and go with flow.
