"You are in love. You are gorgeous. You are strong. Kill them with your charm and glamour." Words written by Michael Kors to inspire the models (which included Kendall, Gigi and Taylor) that walked in his Spring/Summer 2017 show this morning.
In the sun-filled space with live music performed by Rufus Wainwright, Kors presented a delightful collection for the masculine/feminine woman with strong shoulders, bright blooms and intricate sequinned embroidery. Highlights of the show included the belted blazers, oversized collars, utilitarian trenches, exaggerated sleeved shirts inspired by Katharine Hepburn and Kim Basinger.
“When you watch the Spring shows—it’s still warm outside, you’ve still got your summer tan, lots of women haven’t put away their sandals yet. My customers want something they can put on right away,” said Kors. “That’s what this is—something for now and for later.”
Ending off the show with Judy Garland’s “Get Happy,” the spirit of having fun, being optimistic and carefree came through with the psychedelic burst of orange, lime and grapefruit pink in brocade florals. Perfect for summer weather which New York is still experiencing now.
As part of Michael Kors' Ready-to-Wear, Ready to Go concept, 13 specially chosen, just-off-the-runway styles are now available for purchase in select Michael Kors stores and online on Wednesday, 14 September.
