Every fashion girl looks forward to this day in November — We’re talking about Black Friday of course. This year, it falls on Nov 23. While it originated in the United States, this shopping bonanza that occurs annually after Thanksgiving has become a widely popular global event that sees retailers slash prices and offer jaw-dropping discounts. Best of all, with plenty of online stores available and brick-and-mortar shops offering their products online as well, we no longer have to brave the crowds to snatch up our favourite pieces.
Here are some fashion e-retailers where you can get the best Black Friday bargains online. Don’t miss it! Even if you do, there’s always Cyber Monday (Nov 26) to fall back on. Get your credit cards at the ready and click away.
American chain Nordstrom has been offering an extra 20 per cent off selected sale items on previous Black Fridays — and we’re positive they will be back again this year. Right now, we’re waiting (albeit impatiently) for prices of brands such as Chloé and Loewe to get cut further before carting out. Besides fashion, Nordstrom also has a wide range of beauty products. Think Chanel Beauty, NARS and Charlotte Tilbury. Need to replenish your Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat? Look no further than Nordstrom. Grab them before they go OOS.

An international e-retailer that’s based in Montreal, we love Ssense as it offers niche labels such as Alighieri, SJYP (Steve J. and Yoni P.) and Totême. This year, expect good deals of up to 50 per cent off on a wide selection of items, from apparel to accessories — just like the year before. Street-wear lovers are going to love the deals here. It’s here where one can get beloved kicks such as Balenciaga Triple S sneakers at a discount! Shipping to Singapore is free for orders above US$300 (S$415), otherwise you’ll be charged US$25 (S$35) for delivery. So check out a few more items to fully enjoy the freebie.
If you wish to purchase something that’s a tad more high-end, hop onto Barney’s New York. Last year (and the year before that too), they offered up to 40 per cent off on selected items, so we’re hoping this year wouldn’t be all that different. Brands such as Gucci, Valentino and Saint Laurent are a few of our favourites to splurge on. Bonus? They’re offering a pre-Thanksgiving sale right now (click here), and some of their items are up to 75 per cent off. What a steal! Shipping is free (including duties as well) for orders above US$450 (S$622).

Last year, Farfetch offered 30 per cent to 50 per cent off on Black Friday so we think it might be similar this year. Here’s where you can get your hands on coveted items from brands such as Gucci and Givenchy. What we like about this store is that the prices indicated on the website are in Singapore Dollars, so you’ll know exactly how much you’re paying. Just make sure you select the Singapore flag for Delivery Country (located on the top left of the page). Shipping is only calculated at check-out. However, if your orders are above S$215, they offer a flat delivery fee (shown only at checkout) regardless of the number of items you’ve ordered.

A promo code will be provided on their website if the discount does not apply automatically. Be prepared to nab your faves, such as Fenty Beauty, Marc Jacobs Beauty and Urban Decay before they go OOS. For skincare, stock up on Tatcha, Sunday Riley and Saturday Skin. For luscious locks, we recommend Ouai, Living Proof and Percy & Reed. Christmas gifts for your pals — check.

Do take note that this code is not valid with any other ongoing promotions. Also look out for new launches on Cyber Monday, like Huda Beauty’s Kayali fragrance and Skin Inc’s supercharged flash facial optimizer bundle.
When it comes to Black Friday sales, Swedish fast fashion brand H&M does it well. And with a wide variety of items in-store, grab this chance to get all that you need for the holiday season. Last year, they offered crazy discounts that ran up to 70 per cent off. Some items even went as low as S$10! Camp in front of your laptops to get the best deals for their apparels, accessories and beauty products. There’ll be an additional cost of S$6.90 for shipping, so make sure you factor that in.

For affordable yet chic fashion, Zalora is your best bet. Last year, they offered up to 70 per cent discount across all local and international brands. Think that was a bargain? There’s more: Some brands like Dorothy Perkins and Topshop even offered 30 per cent off selected items if you had purchased three items. Hang out at this site if you want to get your hands on brands such as River Island (no longer available in Singapore since 2013), Mango and Zalia (a modest fashion label introduced by Zalora). Picking your purchases up from the stores is free, but you’ll get to enjoy free shipping for orders above $79 (shipping costs $5.90 for orders less than $79). Great news for those who used to wait for the brand’s year-end bonanza!
